For Immediate Release The Colorado Group, Inc. October 29, 2008
Longtime Lafayette corporate citizen Morrell Printing Solutions is moving…but not far. The company has purchased a 24,656 square foot building at 990 S. Public Road, just down the street from its current location at 111 S. Public Road.
“This was an excellent agreement for both the buyer and the seller (Strathmore Commercial LLC)…and the city of Lafayette,” said Gary Aboussie with The Colorado Group. “Morrell was able to purchase the facility below its replacement cost, and the
city is able to retain a great long-time business.” Aboussie, along with partners Wade Arnold and Scot Smith, represented Strathmore in $2,140,000 transaction.
Jim Morrell, director of the company, said the move was spurred by “steadily increasing business; we’ve outgrown our current space. The new facility offers us great expansion possibilities, now and in the future.” Morrell will occupy about a third of the new facility initially. The children’s theatre group, Peanut Butter Players, will lease another third and a current tenant will remain in the balance of the space.
Morrell Printing Solutions employs 10 people. The company was founded by Jim’s father, Gerry Morrell, and has been in Lafayette 33 years.
