November 4, 2009
Todd Walsh, a broker with the Colorado Group in Boulder, has been awarded the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), a professional designation held by less than three percent of commercial real estate brokers nationwide.
Walsh, and only 108 others around the world, recently passed the comprehensive exam to earn the designation. Walsh said that he has been working toward his CCIM designation for the past four years.
In addition to the strenuous exam, candidates must complete a graduate-level curriculum including over 200 classroom hours, and presentation of a portfolio of qualifying experience. The curriculum addresses financial, market, and user decision analysis, which are the cornerstones of commercial investment real estate. “The CCIM designation is a very specialized, intensive education in commercial real estate,” Walsh explained. “It’s beneficial professionally as it provides me an in-depth, focused set of tools to use when assisting the commercial real estate needs of my clients.“
The Chicago-based CCIM was established in 1969 and is the governing body of one of the largest commercial real estate networks in the world. The Institute’s recognized curriculum, powerful technology tools and networking programs impact and influence its membership worldwide.
