A lost art found at John Allen Woodward

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]John Allen Woodward is one of the few remaining American artisans still making fine leather, silver and gold accessories by hand. All of John’s work features his signature and commitment to the highest levels of craftsmanship and design. From his Rocky Mountain studio, John creates works for clients representing some of the most influential and discerning leaders in the entertainment and fashion industries. John has been recognized as a master shoemaker and for his skill, craftsmanship, and design. Recent works can be found on episodes of Fox’s “Empire” and Netflix’s “The Get Down”.

After having retail stores in La Jolla and the Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego, John moved his studio to the Rocky Mountains outside of Boulder Colorado. Recently he worked with commercial real estate broker Liz Amaro of The Colorado Group, to find the perfect storefront location at 1505 Pearl Street, Suite 104 on the Historic Pearl Street Mall. The retail store and workshop features bespoke footwear and fine leather accessories, including handmade wallets, belts, bags, shoes, boots, watch straps and more. Each piece of art is handcrafted from exotic hides here in Boulder, Colorado.

Liz was fantastic in helping us find the perfect spot for our retail location. She listened to our plans and presented us with several locations that I couldn’t have found on my own. Liz was able to get our offer in first and secure favorable terms for our lease. I highly recommend working with her.”

When you walk into John Allen Woodward‘s Pearl Street store in Boulder, you are instantly met with smiles and a beautifully pleasing interior design. It is fascinating watching them work on their one of a kind pieces and equally as intriguing seeing all of the tools hanging on the wall, brilliant colors, textures of the materials, and music playing as you browse through all of the handmade works of wearable and usable art.  It is captivating seeing the artistic processes unfold.

“I love the magic of making. Whether it’s shoes or boots or music, the magic is real magic. You have an idea that you pull out of space, and you gather a pile of raw materials on a bench and at the end of the day, that image becomes real. Real Magic.” – John Allen Woodward[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css_animation=”fadeIn”][vc_images_carousel images=”10110,10109,10108,10107,10106,10105,10104,10103,10102,10101″ img_size=”large” speed=”4000″ autoplay=”yes” wrap=”yes” title=”John Allen Woodward”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
